QUICK OVERVIEW
PDFix-US LLC is the exclusive United States distributor of PDFix accessibility solutions. The company has now launched its Federal Extended Proof-of-Concept Program. This three-month initiative lets selected federal agencies test a scalable way to identify, tag, remediate, and verify large volumes of PDF documents for accessibility.
Participating agencies provide a representative collection of approximately 2,500 PDF documents. In addition, PDFix-US provides specialized training and workflow-development support, so each agency can build and test its own accessibility remediation process.
For example, outsourced remediation runs $5–$8 per page (about $125,000 for 2,500 documents). In comparison, PDFix-US’s published POC pricing covers the same volume for about 93 cents per page. There is actually no per-page pricing, so higher volume mean your effective cost per page continues to go down the more you use the tool.
What’s included
- There is no cost to participate in the program for qualifying Federal and State agencies.
- Your agency supplies about 2,500 real PDF documents (25,000 pages) – not a vendor demo set.
- PDFix SDK Enterprise handles batch tagging. Then, your trained staff uses PDFix Desktop Pro for human verification and final sign-off.
- The program runs on-premises or in a controlled test environment. At the end, you get a final report comparing cost, speed, and compliance quality against your current process.
- Upon completion of the program, agencies interested in purchasing the tools can procure the products and get fully licensed versions of the tools directly from PDFix-US or from authorized distribution channels.
How the three-month POC works
MONTH 1 Baseline & test plan
First, PDFix-US assesses 2,500 agency-supplied PDFs. The team then classifies document types, sets baselines for the current remediation process, and defines the test plan.
Output: The team develops batch-processing scripts and workflows for the supplied documents.
MONTH 2 Configure & train
Next, the team configures SDK batch-tagging workflows and develops templates and rules. It also trains agency users and sets up Desktop audit and verification procedures.
Output: By the end of this month, the team has batch-processed the documents, trained reviewers, documented the workflow, and put repeatable quality controls in place.
MONTH 3 Verification, Results and Business case
In month three, the verification team edits and reviews the PDF documents to confirm that each file is compliant.
Output: The team measures how long manual review of all 2,500 documents takes.
Finally, the team compares PDFix results with conventional remediation. It then quantifies the commercial value, scalability, and production requirements.
Output: You get a full comparison of PDFix results versus your current methodology, mapping time, cost savings, and efficiency gains versus manual remediation or outsourcing.
