The latest PDFix Desktop 2.5 releases deliver a series of refinements focused on accessibility, usability, and performance. Tag Management & Accessibility Tools

Tagging is now more stable and responsive, ensuring cleaner, compliant structures during accessibility repair or verification.

  • Fixed issues when deleting or retagging elements, preventing leftover empty tags
  • Fixed issues in Tag Destinations view and Create Link to Destination functionality.
  • Improved behavior when canceling the Tag As action mid-process
  • Added Set Language action for Document, Tags, and Content
  • Introduced Fix Link Tag action to repair broken links and define valid destinations
  • Added integrated PDF/UA validation tools directly in the document window, including:
    • Arlington PDF Model syntax validation
    • Duplicate MCID Report for identifying repeated marked content IDs
    • VeraPDF Validation for full PDF/UA compliance checking

PDFix Desktop now integrates Salesforce BLIP via the Actions Marketplace to automatically generate and apply alt text for images and figures. This AI-driven Docker action streamlines accessibility by embedding accurate image descriptions directly into PDFs for faster PDF/UA compliance.
