PDFix Desktop 3.1 is out, with five new accessibility actions, an updated veraPDF engine, and a fix for freezing on large documents. Here’s what changed and why it matters for your PDF/UA and WCAG compliance workflow.

veraPDF Updated to 1.30.2
Some validation errors were previously missing from Desktop’s results panel – they now show up correctly, and category labels in the Validation Category View are fixed. If you cleared PDFs earlier this year, it’s worth re-validating: the updated engine may catch issues the old one missed.
Faster on Large Documents
Struct Tree loading is now lazy and batched instead of scanning the whole document upfront, and moving a tag no longer triggers a full-tree rescan. Result: no more freezing when working with deep structure trees on large PDFs.

Charcode column in the Font Unicode Mapping view, font_update support in templates for automated font fixes, and cleanup of tag order, empty tags after retagging, and Fonts pane reload issues.
