Default Tool
In PDFix Desktop, selecting and copying text and graphics is straightforward. You can then paste the copied content into other applications as needed.
Copy Text
Use the Default tool to select text. When hovering over text, the tool changes to an I-beam cursor, allowing you to click and drag to make a selection. The Default tool highlights the chosen text, which can then be copied by selecting Copy from the right-click menu or pressing CTRL+C. Once copied, the text can be pasted into other applications.
To clear the selection, simply click in a blank area of the PDF.
Copy Images
To select images or other graphic objects in a PDF, you can also use the Default tool. Click and drag over the area you want to copy, then release the mouse button to complete the selection. Next, right-click and choose Copy from the right click menu or simply press CTRL+C .
You can achieve the same result by using the Snapshot tool in the Conversion panel.
Copy Tables and content with formatting
For both text and area selection, you can use Copy with Formatting to copy the selected page content as responsive HTML. This allows you to paste the selection into applications like Microsoft Excel or Google Docs, preserving structures such as tables, lists, and text formatting
In the image below, you can see the difference between copying data as an image, text and copying it as a table.
Object Tools
The Object tool functions like the Default tool but allows you to select actual page content objects as they appear in the PDF’s page content. This tool is especially useful when used with the Content panel
Hand Tool
Hand Toolcurrently has one primary function: it lets you grab and move the page around. It also allows you to click on document links.
